Scope of Personal Protective Equipment Training:
This course is designed to teach personnel to
properly select and use personal protective equipment. A
student trainee successfully completing this course will
be able to properly choose the correct PPE for the task
at hand. The trainees will learn how to inspect PPE and
the importance of its use.
Personal Protective Equipment Course Objective:
At the completion of the course, a student trainee should
be able to:
- Discuss how to inspect a hardhat
- Perform a test for brittleness on a hardhat
- Describe the use for each type of eye and face protection
- Describe the difference between impact goggles and splash goggles
- Describe the use for each type of glove
- Discuss how to select the right “rubber” glove for chemicals
- Discuss the advantages of each type of steel toe footwear
